From the urban city streets of downtown Auckland to the dirt trails of Wanaka’s Mount Iron, our Pacific Environments team are racking up the hours of cycling this week for the Aotearoa Bike Challenge.
It’s amazing how much ground you can cover compared to walking, and how immersed you feel in your surroundings compared to driving. Plus, zero emissions!
If you’re in the Auckland region, check out the free services from the Auckland Transport Bike Hubs.
“I got my bike fixed and tires pumped up ready for my first bike ride by the lovely people from Bike Hub and then enjoyed a ride around Auckland CBD taking in the decorations and celebrations for the Chinese New Year, views of the Waitemata Harbour with the latest cruise ships and also a quick cycle around Victoria Park for some lovely live music spilling over from the Fried Chicken Festival.” – Claudia Webb, Senior Architect.
