As the year draws to a close, we wanted to take a moment to extend our warmest wishes.
To our valued clients, we thank you for your support and we look forward to continuing to work with you.
To the consultants, suppliers and others we work with, we are proud and humbled to be part of a wider team delivering great architecture – we can’t do this on our own and we genuinely appreciate the lengths you go to, and the professionalism you show.
And to all those who appreciate architecture, thank you for your interest in Pacific Environments and the work we do.
Celebrating Achievements
This year has been nothing short of remarkable for us, filled with exciting achievements and recognition. We are pleased to share that Clearwater Quays, our mid-rise timber apartment building, has been honoured with the NZ Timber Design Award in the Mid-rise building category – a testament to our commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Our projects, including Birkenhead Primary and Macleans College, were acknowledged with the Property Council’s Excellence in Education awards, marking another milestone in our pursuit of excellence.

The completion of the Club and Pool House complex at The Botanic retirement development in Silverdale is a source of pride for us. Constructed with our unique timber methods, the building showcases a blend of natural timber structures and origami-inspired roof forms, radiating warmth and innovation.

In addition we were pleased to see the Whitianga Medical Centre open, bringing a state of the art facility to the local community.

Our social housing portfolio saw the completion of two large Off Site Manufactured developments for Kāinga Ora in Rotorua this year, one of many projects completed by us for them. The community we created was extremely well received by Rotorua locals and it is rewarding to see it populated by children and their families.

We have a number of very interesting projects currently under design, including 8 storey timber residential buildings, commercial and industrial developments, large comprehensive housing developments including social, Iwi and market developments, and education projects along with medical support facilities. In addition to these, we are also busy with professional urban design services including Environment Court and Council hearing processes across the country. Our dedicated Interior Design team are also working hard to produce creative and welcoming spaces for our clients.
Team Growth and Contributions
This year, we welcomed six new members to our ever-growing team – David Raea, Jerry Li, Michael Wu, Zoë McNicholas, Sam Cowper, and Jessica Long. Their talents and dedication have seamlessly integrated into our close-knit Pacific Environments family.
In 2023, we were honored to contribute meaningfully to various charitable organisations. These included the Heart Foundation, Breast Cancer Foundation, Movember, Westpac Helicopter, Starship, and Trees for Survival, your support allowed us to make a positive impact in our community. Our unique team-building day resulted in not only innovative lego designs but also a generous donation of brand new lego packs to Starship – a small gesture that we hope brought joy to those in need.
