Amidst all of the rain Auckland has experienced lately, we finally saw some sun last week and had the opportunity to donate to Macleans College’s tree planting day as part of the Trees for Survival programme (TfS). Caroline Farnan, our Project Architect for their latest Science and Technology blocks, kindly lent the students a helping hand in planting the natives they had nurtured from seedlings.
Did you know that the TfS programme offers schools the chance to grow and plant 1,000 native plants annually? These are assigned to areas of unstable land, to prevent erosion, improve stream flow and water quality, increase native biodiversity and offset carbon emissions.
A huge shout-out to TfS for their dedication to this programme, providing schools with not just trees, but also knowledge and guidance of how to care for our precious natural environment.
